Aero Contractors Company of Nigeria, also commonly referred to as Aero, is a Nigerian airline based at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja, Lagos State, Nigeria. The airline, founded in 1959, operates both domestic and international scheduled services throughout Nigeria as well as third party aircraft operations for the Nigerian oil and gas industry.
Aero Contractors Company of Nigeria Limited (ACN) has two divisions. Their fixed wing division provides scheduled passenger services throughout Nigeria and West-Africa while their rotary wing division provides helicopter services for the oil and gas industry in Nigeria and West Africa.
Aero Contractors has been the most principal and most visible name in the aviation history of Nigeria since 1960 and are an active member of the International Air Transport Aviation (I.A.T.A.). From their beginning as a charter service company, Aero Contactors has grown to providing both rotary and fixed wing services. Their aim is to provide business to business aviation services, with particular focus on tailor made services for the oil and gas industry in Nigeria and the surrounding countries.
Aero Contractors serve almost all of the domestic airports throughout Nigeria, including Abuja, Benin City, Calabar, Kano, Enugu, Lagos, Owerri, Port Harcourt, Uyo and Warri. Their international destinations include the Kotoka International Airport in Accra, Ghana and Benin.
The Aero Contractors fleet currently consists of two Boeing 737-400 aircraft, five Boeing 737-500 aircraft and three Bombardier Dash 8 Q300 aircraft. They also offer Helicopter services for transporting goods and services within and to outside Nigeria.
Their additional passenger services include corporate accounts which allow corporate clients a number of features such as access to flights at least two hours prior to flight time, charges to an account with Aero Contractors and a number of other features for the customerís convenience.
The Executive Desk is a service for VIP customers of Aero Contractors with personal account managers to provide additional convenience for corporate travellers such as VIP lounges, and assistance with planning and bookings.
They provide online check in facilities which allow passengers with confirmed flight bookings to check-in and print their boarding passes ahead of their scheduled travel date. Passengers are not required to stand in queues for boarding passes at the airport on the day of travel.
